Our AUCTION is coming... ready or not!

We are VERY busy preparing for the upcoming auction set to start on February 28th and run through March 4th! We are so excited about ALL of the donations we have received. There are some amazing items, and we hope you'll take the time to check it out. There is a sample of what an auction listing will look like on our Facebook page HERE. We will also be listing everything here under its very own tab in the next two weeks. Check back for that update!

A couple of things to keep in mind as we prepare to launch:

1) No facebook, no problem! If you don't have a facebook page, you will still be able to bid on items! (And you can share this information with your friends and family who don't have facebook either, in case they want to participate and give to A Little Thunder too. The more participation, the better.) How cool is that? We are still tweaking exactly how it will work, but hopefully it allows those who aren't facebookers to still participate. Essentially, you will receive a bidder ID and you can let us know what items you want to bid on. We will bid for you up to your maximum bid amount. Once you are maxed out, we will email you to let you know and see if you want to up your max. At the end, this could get a little tricky, but the higher your max is, the more likely you are to get the item(s) you want. Please email Pam at pam@alittlethunder.org if you are interested in getting your own bidder ID. She will need your name, mailing address, email address, and a good contact telephone number (just in case we need it at the end in an emergency).

2) We are still seeking donations!!! While we have received some amazing donations, there is still room for more. We would love to have a great variety of items to auction off. If you are unable to donate, would you be willing to contact some businesses to see if they could give to our cause? We can use all the help we can get. Let us know if you are have something or know of a good resource to contact. We love referrals!

3) Anonymous Bidder Option! We know that some people will want to bid anonymously, and we understand that. We are going to allow for you to receive a bidder ID and bid on items anonymously. You will need to email Pam at pam@alittlethunder.org with your name, mailing address, email address, and a good contact telephone number (for emergencies). She will email you back with your bidder ID. Once the auction starts, you can email her with the items you want to bid on and your maximum bid. This will work the same as those who do not have a facebook. However, if you have facebook, you should be able to watch the bids and know when you are about at your max. You can then email us to let us know if you want to up your max.

4) Thank you for your support! We are SO looking forward to it and hoping it will become an annual event. With your support, we know it will be something we can do year after year. This will give you all time to think about what you can donate next year.

Of course, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email us. We'd love to hear from you!

  1. I'm here visiting from Monica's blog.

I sit here, with tears streaming down my face, having just read Isaac's birth story. I carry a similar story in my heart--a tiny daughter born still on September 10, 2002.
    So similar and so different.
The pain never goes away. But I can honestly say that it sweetens somewhat.
I had the same urge you did, and I made kits for the hospital myself, one year after losing Ella (which means beautiful fairy, such a fitting name for my eternal angel). It filled a little of the hole, but every once in a while, I'm overwhelmed by the earthly hole in my family picture, between a sister and a brother. But I can honestly say my life would not have been the same if I had not endured such a haunting loss. Thanks for sharing your story.
